This is not my first time creating a White Wine Mulled Wine. I actually made a Chardonnay Mulled Wine a few years back, but I wanted to give this recipe a refresh! I take out the Orange Juice and use different ratios and spices that make this such a delicious Chardonnay Mulled Wine. A must sip for this Warming Season.

Choosing Your Wine
First off, why did I choose Chardonnay? Could others work? Well here are my thoughts:
- Chardonnay works best since they have that Full-Bodied texture, a ton of spice notes, that they can stand out on it’s own. With Mulled Wine being all about the Spice, this is why I love going with a Chardonnay
- What other wines could work?
- What wines don’t? – I don’t like to say you CAN’T you something, because depending on the region and where you’re getting your wine from, it can make a difference. But I’d stay away from the Pinot Blanc, Grigio’s and Gris. They are so delicate in nature, and it’s not really what we are going for and building with this Mulled Wine. I also wouldn’t recommend a Sauvignon Blanc, just because I don’t find the vegetal notes in a Sauv will compliment the warming spices we have going on with this Chardonnay Mulled Wine recipe.
You have a ton of options when it comes to choosing your Chardonnay, but I did want to give a special shout out to a dear friend that just opened up a Wine Company and deserves the love. Remember, when you can, shop local, support friends, love each other. You can find The Juice Company and the Chardonnay used HERE.

Building Out Your Chardonnay Mulled Wine
There are two main alcohol components that play a major role in this Mulled Wine, and the brandy can NOT be forgotten. My friends at St-Remy have been some of my favourite, value-driven options when it comes to Brandies and Cognacs. I love them. Think of it as your sophisticated whisky, made from grapes, layered in flavour thanks to the casks its held in. Brandy can be used EVERYWHERE, and it adds a body and texture to this Mulled Wine that I love. Make sure that this is included! You won’t regret it.
The other components you’ll find is Raisin, Honey, Apple Cider and Rosemary. But here’s the thing, you can make this your own. A delicate amount of Sage would work well. Maybe you want a heaping amount of Ginger or even throw in a Jalapeno instead. what I love about Mulled Wines is that you can personalize it to your preference. This combination was a real winner for me, so I would never change it. But don’t be afraid to experiment in this Apple & Chardonnay Mulled Wine!
