Melon Buzz – Sheringham Gin Watermelon Cocktail

With all the beautiful Lavender and Floral notes in Sheringham Seaside Gin, Watermelon was calling to me, especially for the Summer. This Riff of a Bees Knees is the Gin Cocktail you didn’t know you needed, and trust me, you’ll be shaking this up more than once!

Working with Sheringham Gin

If you haven’t had a chance to taste the lineup from Sheringham Gin out in Vancouver Island, just stop, head to a store, or shop online because they are a must. They’re a brand I’ve recently fallen for, for their quality and ideologies when it comes to craft cocktails.

Now what I love about this Gin is how versatile it truly is. It can stand on its own and sip well, while holding strong in a Martini. But it’s the delicious floral notes and balance of Juniper that I love mixing in a cocktail. The Gin is also heavily influenced by the Vancouver Island Coast and incorporates an interesting infusion of Wilted Kelp. A delicious Sip if you ask me, and worth seeking out.

Why Watermelon in this Gin Watermelon Cocktail?

With the delicate floral notes in the Sheringham Seaside Gin, I wanted to have a flavour pairing that would be balanced enough to shine through but not overwhelm and mask the floral notes. That’s why I love working with melons, in particular Watermelon, to help act as a supportive role, than outshine with its flavour. In addition, Watermelon and Floral notes work hand in hand and can make beautiful magic together.
