I can’t begin to tell you how often I used to google ‘Orgeat’ Syrup because I could never remember what it was. It’s one of those words that would pop up every so often in the beverage scene, but I just couldn’t wrap my head around it. Maybe because I didn’t care for almonds back then, or (and most likely) I was just closed minded to new things.
Nowadays, almonds are my best friends. It adds a subtle richness to a cocktail that I never expected, and the pairings are virtually limitless! I first made this recipe for the Raspberry Floral Almond Fizz Spring Cocktail, but don’t be surprised where I toss this into next! The reason this isn’t an official Orgeat Syrup is due to the fact that I don’t use Orange Blossom Water or a Brandy/Vodka. I kept this recipe as simple as possible, and it’s pretty much simple syrup with crushed almonds. I hope you like it as much as I do!
