My obsession with tea continues, and I am excited to bring you a recipe AND syrup that will have you going for seconds, or thirds…or you just stop counting to make yourself feel better. I have been wanting to create a cocktail with chai for a long time.
My success with the london fog got me very excited to work with stronger teas, and I knew chai would be my next challenge. Whenever I am stuck, or lacking some pairing inspiration, I always refer back to ‘The Flavor Bible’. This book is INCREDIBLE and it’s a must have for anyone who loves to cook, and always looking for new inspiration. So with that in mind, and my love for cardamom, I decided to combine the two into a syrup.
This syrup is unreal, and I would definitely use it in a chai latte (aka I’m about to make some as soon as this post is done!). To find this recipe, make sure to follow here.
Let’s get back to the point in which you’re all here…the cocktail! As mentioned, I referred to ‘The Flavor Bible’ book, and strawberries was one of the flavour suggestions with cardamom. That was my voila moment. So I threw in some bourbon, some bitters to give it body, and ginger beer for a little bit of heat and effervescence to tie it all together. This is an EASY cocktail to throw together, and a great way to start off your weekend!
