Dairy has always been one of those ingredients that I struggled to work with. Because I wasn’t comfortable with it, I never gave it a try. But I’m extremely happy to say that I’ve grown out of this hump and have found my calling. I realized that cocktails with cream and dairy don’t have to be heavy on the palette. Instead you’ll be surprised at how bright and fresh it can be, and that is definitely the case with today’s Peach and Mint Fizz creation.
This creamy fizz features Liquid Culture’s Simple Peach Syrup. Whenever I have this syrup lying around my fridge (which is a lot), I have a ton of fun experimenting with new combinations and flavours. One of the reasons I love this syrup is because I don’t boil down or roast the peaches, so the syrup still holds a bright, fresh character to it. Hence why I knew it would be the perfect companion with what I’m creating here.
To compliment the peach, I decided to shake the cocktail with some lightly pressed mint. It’s very subtle, but has just the right amounts to highlight the peach and lemon shaken in this cocktail. Gin only seemed natural to combine here, and the rest is history. I’m sure if you haven’t jumped on the ‘Ramos Gin Fizz’ band wagon, you soon will if you give this a try! Cheers!
