WHO DOESN’T LOVE AN IRISH COFFEE? Truly. I want to know. Because a good Irish Coffee is life changing, and if you haven’t had it, well let me share the love. So when it comes to gifting an Irish Coffee, it doesn’t take much to become the favourite in the group with very little effort. With that said, I share how to gift a beautiful Irish Coffee with one of my favourite Irish Whiskey brands period. So let’s make gifting Irish Coffee a thing!
This concept came together on a special segment for Breakfast Television. Want to watch my segment? Catch it online by following this link HERE.
Choosing your Irish Whiskey

I love Irish Coffee, but that’s probably because my love for Irish Whiskey runs deep. Out of all the whiskey styles out there, Irish Whiskey excites me the most. From its unique characteristics, spicy nature, and I continue to discover more distilleries that expand that love. Glendalough has quickly become a fan-favourite in our household, and they experiment a ton with their barreling styles and expressions.
It can’t be called an Irish Coffee without Irish Whiskey. That’s where I stay firm in my feelings that I would NOT experiment with other styles of whiskey. It would jsut feel like an insult.
Packing your French Press for the Holidays
So how do we gift the ultimate gift? Well why not in a French Press? Bring the whole theme and concept together — it’s a win, win. Now if you are gifting this to someone who has the ultimate coffee machine, then don’t stress. You don’t have to wrap up a gift in a French Press. Mason Jars go a long way, or even a cute gift pack that holds a special quality coffee beans, and more.
For this particular gift set, I place fresh Coffee Beans in a French Press, topped with Cubed Brown Sugar (so it doesn’t break apart in between the coffee beans, with nutmeg and a jigger tied in a pretty ribbon on the side. If you decide to opt out of the French Press and want to add it to a basket, place a jigger, maybe a beautiful Irish Coffee Glass (psst glass preferred for most Irish Coffees) with special imported beans and coffee spoon. Time and effort put into a gift like this, goes a long way without breaking the bank! Here’s what was specific included in the French Press Pack:
- ¾ cup Coffee Beans
- 6 Brown Sugar Cubes
- French Press
- 1 Nutmeg or Cinnamon
- Jigger *Optional

Classic Irish Coffee Recipe
The classic Irish Coffee recipe is the base. Just like any coffee you drink, experiment and tweak it to your preference. Keep in mind the ratios, plus there are some key tips to making an Irish Coffee that elevates the whole experience. Note that the one thing to an Irish Coffee Recipe that I didn’t include in the pack was cream, since it doesn’t travel well unless cooled the entire time. Keep that in mind, or if you want to go out of the box, dehydrated marshmallows could work…not the same, but you get the point. Now let’s show you how to make one at home!
